Professional Builder
January 2003

In recognition of the nation’s best new housing designs, the 20th annual Best in American Living Award (BALA) awards were presented on Sunday, January 18, 2004, at an award ceremony in conjunction with the National Association of Home Builders’ annual convention and exposition in Las Vegas. A Platinum award in the BALA competition was presented to White Oak Properties for the Summit Park project.

Sponsored by Professional Builder magazine and the National Association of Home Builders, the BALA program showcases homes that illustrate design quality, succeed in the marketplace and exemplify the “Best in American Living”. To qualify, homes must have been completed or communities opened between May 1, 2002, and July 15, 2003.

A total of 137 award winners in 38 categories were chosen from more than 533 entries. The 2003 BALA competition’s panel of 12 judges was composed of builders, marketing experts, architects, land planners, developers, design professionals, interior designers and Professional Builder editors.

Winners were featured in a Winners’ Book published in the January issue of Professional Builder magazine. For more information on the 2003 winners, visit www.HousingZone.com/BALA.
